About Homelessness

Statistics show that the homelessness issue is growing. In 2011-2012 there were 105,338 people homeless in Chicago. In 2010 this number was only 93,780.

In 2011-2012 there were about 17,255 students in the Chicago area who were homeless.

In the years 2011-2012 there were 47,816 homeless students in Illinois.

In the past year, homelessness has increased by 7% nationally.

In the U.S., 1 in 45 children are homeless.

In 2012 8% of the homeless were veterans, 26% of the homeless were mentally ill, and 15% were physically disabled.

These statistics show that homelessness is a real issue. Warm Wishes helps those who are less fortunate by providing them with blankets, comforters, quilts, and sleeping bags. You can help the homeless by donating as well. Check out the link below to see homeless shelters in your area.
